Juno's had plenty of physicals in his life. In fact, he'd say all the ones he had in his late teens and early twenties were more than enough for the rest of his life.

And they were never like this.

He can endure them for the most part with minimal growling and eye-rolling, but for the most part he's just kind of worried and trying to keep track of people he--wants to take care of. It's not that hard when there is almost no privacy, but it is hard because people keep pulling curtains shut.

Milling Around

Juno whips loose of the overly friendly orderly showing him back into the main waiting area. He's trying to hold the back of his gown closed. He ends up bumping into someone (with just one eye, that peripheral vision is a little off).

"Fuck--sorry. I didn't--sorry."

He's had worse days. But he's definitely had better ones.

Partner Exams
No one likes being forced to do things, but Juno especially doesn't like feeling forced to do things in a medicalized setting. That cave under the Martian surface wasn't exactly like this, but he keeps fucking thinking about it. And he knows - he's pretty sure - he's not going to be asked to invade someone else's mind, but... how consensual is any of this in the end?

He keeps trying to find Nureyev. Peter doesn't need him to take care of him, but he--he just wants to know he's okay.

He ends up behind another curtain, waiting for a submissive partner. Apparently his results with his contract partner came back inconclusive, whatever that means. Someone's brought behind the curtain and Juno makes himself breathe. He's the Dominant here, right? He has to have his shit together.

It just keeps showing up. Juno has thrown it out windows, he tried putting it down a drain, through a garbage disposal.

But there it is on the counter at work, or in his kitchen in the apartment, or on the table at the place he likes to get coffee, or in the house of someone he's visiting, or in his drink at the bar he frequents. There. It fucking. Is.

It is a small red, indestructible, gem-like pill on a chain. He doesn't want to think about everything it represents and everything that went with it, but he can't fucking get away from it.

He picks it up, scowling.

"You have got to be fucking kidding me. Maybe I should just fucking swallow it again. I still got one eye left - is that what you want?!"

Yeah, he's uh... yelling at the pill.
